My Experience taking The CDMP Program

Being a new mom, MBA student, and entrepreneur makes for a busy lifestyle, but I wouldn't change it for anything. I started the University of St. Thomas MBA program in the fall of 2015 and decided to pursue my Certified Digital Marketing Professional program through St. Thomas' Executive Education program the spring of 2017. Given my positive experience in the Part-time Flex MBA program, I knew Executive Education would also deliver a strong learning experience.  

I knew I’ve always wanted to start my own business, and the CDMP program gave me the confidence to do so. After obtaining my CDMP, I started a digital marketing company called HeiPro Digital. Having a digital marketing certification gives me credibility with my clients.  

Overall, the CDMP program provided me with a high-level overview of all things digital marketing. Learning how to develop a digital marketing strategy is particularly important in helping me navigate the intricacies of online marketing. As a small business owner, I’ve found that knowing how to brainstorm opportunities and prioritizing them based on the impact they’ll have has been one of the most valuable takeaways.  

The Search and Display and Email deep dives are most beneficial to me as I’m building my own business and when I work with my clients. I use many of the tools presented in the program daily. Although these two deep dives were my favorite, each deep dive gave me skills to be a successful and well-rounded digital marketer.  

I've recommended this program to others because I have found it to be extremely beneficial in pivoting my career. This program will provide the skills for a strong foundation in today's marketing world to anyone that wants to change their role or step up their marketing game.
