HeiPro Digital's Feature on the What Not to Do Podcast

Hey Guys, Alex here. ✌ I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to finally share more about my experience recording a podcast episode with Kyle M. Schmitz at the “What Not To Do” podcast. We chatted about my life, about the spark that finally got me down the road towards entrepreneurship and about all the crazy “who would have known” moments along the way. That’s a title wave of information, I get that... so here I am giving you a quick summary of the best parts of this conversation!

Here’s why I chose to become an entrepreneur…

  • I get to enjoy a flexible work schedule to accommodate my life and my family

  • I always want to have this flexibility to enjoy life with my kiddos

  • I get to control my workday

  • I don’t have to punch a clock

  • There’s too much crappy marketing and I want to help the local market be better

  • I love how I help my clients do the small stuff so they can “change the world” doing what they do

Here’s what I do at HeiPro Digital

I build relationships; specifically, I love to learn about what people do or what they’re creating. My job is to meet people, build relationships, and do whatever I can to help them. Sometimes that’s me connecting them to someone else or them actually hiring us!

Here’s what I would have told myself when I started this business…

  • Don’t be afraid

  • Don’t fall prey to the imposter syndrome

  • Hire that business coach

  • Steadfast confidence that I have value to bring to the table

  • There’s no virtue in doing absolutely everything yourself

  • Accepting help and scaling and not being afraid of hiring someone

Here are my biggest takeaways for you to hear…

  • Your network is your net worth

  • As entrepreneurs, we don’t simply take risks, we manage them

  • In your work:

  1. Write a list of the things you enjoy and are good at

  2. Dedicate time to become better at the things you enjoy but you’re not good at

  3. Outsource the things not on either of those lists (you don’t enjoy them nor are you good at them!)

A huge thank you to Kyle for asking me on to the “What Not To Do” Podcast. It was such a fun opportunity to share my story.
